The power of partnerships: UST sponsor the People's Kitchen

Since 2015, our monthly People's Kitchen has been an opportunity for us to sit down with our local community and look out for those less fortunate than ourselves.

This Giving Tuesday, we are celebrating the businesses who have generously sponsored the initiative, supercharging our efforts and helping us to deliver over 5000 meals since the beginning of the pandemic.

Our People’s Kitchen in October was sponsored by UST, a digital transformation company who joined us on the ground to deliver meals to our local community, and have kindly offered to sponsor our Christmas service.

We caught up with UST's Chief Delivery Officer, Praveen Prabhakaran, to find out what inspired him to join us, and to hear about his experience so far.

You describe UST as a company "powered by purpose". Can you tell us more this and the company’s core values?

UST's core values are humility, humanity and integrity. To me, that means leading with empathy, putting people at the centre of our work and staying true to our mission to transform lives. This informs our office culture, our client relationships and our commitment to creating impact and supporting our community.

What first attracted you to Goldfinger and why did you want to join the People's Kitchen?

We were impressed with how Goldfinger is making a difference in the community by reaching out to those who are most in need. We wanted to create opportunities for our employees to take part in initiatives that would connect them to a sense of purpose. We now invite our new hires to volunteer with us at the People's Kitchen. This is an opportunity to celebrate the joining of new employees and create lasting memories.

How did you find the experience of volunteering with the People’s Kitchen?

It was genuinely a humbling experience. The meticulous planning which went into the event was exceptional.

What would you say to encourage other businesses to sponsor events like the People’s Kitchen?

When organisations like Goldfinger have the focus and drive to make a difference in the lives of people who need help, we should do what we can to help them succeed. I believe in the power of partnerships to provide opportunities for connection, in this case giving our employees the chance to give back to their community.

If you or your business would like to support our People's Kitchen throughout the winter months and make a huge, positive impact on our community, you can sponsor a service here.
