Auction FAQs

How do I make a bid?

All bids increase in increments of £20, apart from Lot 1, which increases in increments of £100.

Once you have placed a bid you will receive an email confirmation. If you are outbid at any point, you will receive a notification letting you know so you can increase your bid.  You can bid as often as you like!

You can also set a maximum bid (proxy) which will ensure you outbid other bidders up to your chosen maximum bid. You can do this by clicking ‘place automatic bid’ underneath the ‘place bid’ button. Keep an eye on your email as you will receive a notification if your maximum bid is exceeded.

Bidding closes at 10pm on November 18th.

Where does the money go?

100% of proceeds fund the Goldfinger Academy. It will allow us to offer more funded spaces on our craft workshops for local residents on low income, and to fund our career guidance and traineeship programmes for local youth not in education, employment or training.

How do I pay if I win?

When the auction closes, you will receive an email confirming your winning bid. By bidding on a lot and participating in the auction you are committing to making payment in a timely manner.  We are asking for payments for all winning bids to be made by Friday November 18th. You won’t be asked for your account details or payment until the auction has ended and you have received confirmation that your winning bid has been successful.

Please make all payments via our website, even if you are planning to collect your item from our showroom.

How will I receive my item?

Physical lots can be collected from our showroom, or we can arrange delivery upon request. Please note that shipping costs may be extra, depending on the size of the item and your location.

For experiences or non-physical lots, details of how to redeem your winnings will be sent to you via email within one week of the auction ending.

Our commitment to sustainable packaging

Goldfinger only buys sustainable packing materials from verifiable sources. If you receive something in plastic bubble wrap, please know that sometimes we recycle packaging materials that we’ve received at the showroom and workshop, but we do not buy packing materials that are plastic or difficult to recycle.
