Break lockdown monotony and transport yourself into a tiny new world by joining artist and designer Noel Fettingsmith for an introduction to furniture model making.
In this practical workshop, Noel will teach you how to make your own furniture model and equip you with the skills needed to make quick models to explore your furniture dreams, as he shows you how to explore big projects in small spaces.
Noel will also invite your behind the scenes at Goldfinger, sharing our approach to sustainable design and craftsmanship.
Prior to the class, you will receive a video, introducing you to Goldfinger's adventures in furniture design and giving you a task to prepare before the class. You will also be provided with a kit of materials to use in the workshop.
Watch the video and complete your task. This can be done in your own time before the live session.
Live Zoom Session: Wednesday 25 March 6-7pm
In this 1-hour workshop delivered via Zoom, Noel will share his practice, review the task you prepared, and teach you how to make a furniture model.
Your kit will include:
- Hot glue gun
- 2 hot glue sticks
- A scalpel
- A cutting mat
What you will need:
- You will need to source recycled cardboard to make your model.

This course is open to anyone aged 19 or over.

About the maker:
Noel Fettingsmith leads the Goldfinger Academy where he shares his skills in sustainable design and craft. He joined Goldfinger team after moving to London from Chicago bringing skills in collaborative making, education, furniture and architecture production. Noel coordinates and delivers Goldfinger Academy’s courses, and is passionate about engaging society through employment within cultural production.
