Become a Goldfinger Future Maker

Applications are open for our Future Makers traineeship, running from 27th - 31st May 2024.

During this 5-day programme, trainees will be taught furniture-making skills, gain career guidance, and get an introduction to sustainable design and making practices.

The traineeship is free and open to those aged 16 to 25, who are studying and/or living in RBKC.

The programme is well-suited to those interested in woodworking, design and making, looking for the first steps towards employability or looking to pursue practical learning. We welcome applications from those currently not in education, employment or training.

The programme will include:

  • making a timber stool with a woven cane seat (in Goldfinger's workshop at the base of Trellick Tower)
  • a site visit to one of our partners, including travel and lunch
  • career guidance with Goldfinger's designer-makers to learn about careers in woodworking and design 
  • two free lunches (on Monday and Friday)
