Become a Goldfinger
Future Maker

Applications are open for our Spring Future Makers traineeship, running from Monday to Friday 10-14 April 2023.

During this one-week programme, trainees will be taught woodworking and traditional timber framing skills, gain career guidance, and get an introduction to sustainable design and making practices.

The traineeship is open to those aged 16 to 29, who are studying and/or living in RBKC.

The programme is well-suited to those interested in woodworking, design, construction and architecture, looking for the first steps towards employability or looking to pursue practical learning in this field.

We welcome those who are currently not in education, employment or training.

The programme will include:

  • building a quarter-scale replica of a traditional English timber frame house outdoors (outside Goldfinger's workshop at the back of Trellick Tower)
  • a site visit to the sawmill and timber yard of Fallen & Felled in Essex, who repurpose felled urban trees into hardwood timber for furniture makers, architects and designers.
  • career guidance with Goldfinger's designer-makers to learn about careers in woodworking and design
  • free lunch every day in our on-site Sicilian café

The deadline for applications is Friday the 17th of March, 5pm and we will be confirming places on the week commencing 20 March.
